Hormone pellet therapy administers hormones such as estradiol or testosterone into a patient’s body via a compounded hormone pellet which is inserted through minor, painless outpatient surgery.
Bioidentical hormone replacement pellet therapy utilizes bioidentical hormones, which have the same exact chemical structure as natural produced hormones. This allows for the hormone to fully function as it dissolves and is metabolized throughout the body.
During the in-office procedure, a tiny pellet (roughly the size of a single grain of rice) is placed just beneath the skin of the upper hips or buttocks through a very small incision. After the initial placement, the hormones are naturally distributed over time in your body, by your body – this allows for steady dispersion as opposed to the ups and downs that can sometimes result from other hormone solutions.
Additionally, because each pellet is internally distributed over time, you don’t have to deal with the inconvenience of managing treatments yourself at home on a set plan. Hormone options such as medications, creams, gels and patches must be administered on a consistent schedule, adding disruption to your life and potentially causing problems if you forget to follow through or misread any instructions.
This can make pellet therapy an especially valuable solution if you travel constantly so you never have to worry about time zones, medication left behind or other similar logistical concerns. If you are afraid of needles you will likely appreciate a more simple alternative to constant injections.
With two to four appointments per year depending on your body type, physical needs and custom compound, hormone pellet therapy can offer patients easy, efficient assistance to a happier life.
Platelet-rich plasma therapy is a form of regenerative medicine typically utilized to significantly speed up the recovery process of injuries, though it can also be used to aid in recovery from surgery and to reduce pain from certain conditions such as tendonitis.
PRP therapy revolves around plasma, the component of your blood that is important not only for the proteins which help your blood to clot, but also the proteins that support and encourage cell growth. By taking a sample of your blood, isolating just the powerful plasma to make a sort of “super PRP” solution and then injecting it back into your body into the specific pain point, we can allow the plasma-rich protein to get to work and induce an inflammatory response so you can heal more effectively and more efficiently. Because the injection is made up of a product created by your body, you don’t have to be concerned about rejections or negative reactions to treatment.
In order to isolate and concentrate the plasma, we’ll first need to take a small amount of your blood, then place it in a centrifuge machine to quickly separate the different components. This takes only a matter of minutes and will be done during your appointment time.
After the plasma has been separated, the platelet-rich plasma will be prepped for reentry back into your body, where it will be directed to the specific injury, surgery site or chronic condition pain source. We’ll use anesthetic so the area of focus is numb, then use imaging technology (like an ultrasound) to find the exact spot the PRP injection should be done for the optimal results.
Platelet-rich plasma therapy is not an instant solution, so you will still need to rest and take care of the affected area. Recovery may still be quite slow at first. However, you should notice less pain and a much better recovery process than was expected before the injections. Because of this you may also find a reduced need for reliance on pain medications. As an experienced care provider, Dr. Yusuf Mathai can work closely with you to recommend the right steps for you to take so you can get back to feeling fully functional again as soon
as possible.
BTL EMSELLA™ is a non-invasive and painless incontinence treatment that strengthens the patient’s pelvic floor better than any alternative methods available – with no recovery time! Using HITM (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology, BTL EMSELLA™ strengthens the pelvic floor and enhances the patient’s
bladder control.
During a visit for this completely painless procedure, patients are fully clothed and will be scheduled for a 28-30 minute session. Because of the familiar “chair-like” design of the BTL EMSELLA™, the patient simply sits down on BTL EMSELLA™ like they would on any other chair to begin treatment. Then, thousands of HITM waves will begin emanating from the device to the patient’s pelvic floor only causing, if anything, a mild discomfort. In response, the pelvic muscles will begin to contract, providing results as if the patient had done 1,000 kegels in only one session!
After discussing their recommended treatment plan with our trusted staff, the patient can go about their day with no adjustments to their already established plans when the appointment ends. BTL EMSELLA™ is FDA approved and has been found to have increased the overall quality of life in 95% of patients by liberating them from pad usage, providing longer uninterrupted sleep, and allowing them the freedom of living their daily lives without having to worry about involuntary bladder leakage.
We understand that incontinence is a common problem impacting the day-to-day life of millions due to natural aging, childbirth, and menopause. Although BTL EMSELLA™ is not a permanent solution, our patients are able to see immediate results and are provided with reasonable pricing that makes treatment both available and convenient! At Oregon Health DPC, we invite you to experience care from Dr. Yusuf Mathai, a physician who keeps your best interest in mind at all times and persistently works to improve your overall quality of life.
Body sculpting is a medical procedure that is done by a trained professional, yet it works to naturally trigger the body’s ability to get rid of fat and strengthen muscle areas such as those in the abdomen, arms, calves, thighs and buttocks.
Although body sculpting involves a number of procedures with your doctor, it is not a type of surgery and there are no incisions, injections, medications or invasive measures. At each appointment you lie down while the EmSculpt machine utilizes a powerful, high-intensity electromagnetic energy which consistently delivers strong muscle contractions throughout the area(s) of focus. These contractions occur thousands of times in just half an hour, essentially similar to the workout you would experience at a gym but at a vastly higher rate than you would be able to do on your own yourself.
EmSculpt body sculpting is painless. You will feel an intense sensation similar to a hot stone massage on the targeted locations. Then, on days following the treatment, your body will react similarly to a high-powered workout the day before, since that is what it has effectively experienced.
Rather than simply reducing the appearance of fat, this FDA-approved method of body sculpting actively tones muscles and eliminates fat cells to help you authentically achieve a more toned body inside and out. In addition to helping you build muscle, the contractions simultaneously make your body permanently break down and eliminate a number of fat cells. It is not used for dramatic weight loss but can tone and firm areas to give you increased strength and confidence.
In order for the EmSculpt procedures to be most effective, a series of several sessions are necessary. You may begin to notice results within a few appointments.
Body contouring can allow you to build enough muscle and trim enough fat so you can get a valuable jumpstart on the right fitness routine for you. Though effective with results that last for some time after the sessions, body sculpting is not a substitute for a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. Oregon Health DPC can work closely with you to identify and understand the steps you need to live your best life with improved health and happiness.
Oregon Health DPC was started to overcome frustrations with regular fee-for-practice services that leave both doctors and patients wanting more out of their health care. Rather than being burdened with an insurance middleman dictating treatments, a direct primary care practice can work directly with its patients to decide the best visit schedule and treatment plan.
Direct Primary Care is a new model of healthcare that focuses on putting the patient first and restoring the patient-doctor relationship. That means treating the patient when they need it, never rushing through appointments, and being proactive in creating treatment plans. Your monthly fee provides for unlimited and extended same- or next-day office visits, direct access to your doctor via phone or email, and discounted prescriptions and lab fees. Direct Primary Care delivers affordable and personal care, unparalleled by any other model.
As a DPC clinic, we focus on you and your health without the influence of unnecessary third party restrictions. We see far fewer patients than a traditional insurance-based practice so we can provide you the best care possible. Patients find their visits with us to be detailed and unrushed, with thorough exams and testing.
Our patient benefits include full access to care without barriers. You’ll have more time with your doctor, unprecedented access, no co-pays, and no limit on visits. This includes physicals, pediatric care, wellness education, chronic disease management, simple procedures, and more.
